I'm Not a Regular Mom, I'm a Cool Mom

As a mom, I wonder why we criticize our fellow moms so harshly. If we know one thing, it is that we have no clue what we are doing. I believe that there is no one right way to parent, and it would be great if we all stopped pretending that there is. I have found myself judging, which is what brought me to write on the topic. Nobody is perfect, right?

Breastfeeding vs. formula feeding, attachment parenting, helicopter parenting, tiger parenting, justwatchtheTVsoIcandrinkmycoffee parenting, I have no clue where I fall in these categories (well, maybe the last one sometimes), let alone judge where others should or should not fall in these categories.

All I know is that I am a single mom, a student, and a waitress. I do my best at each of my duties and if that is not enough for someone, then too bad. We will never find peace by trying to be what others think we should be. I am by no means preaching; I said it before but I will say it again: I have no clue what I am doing but I hope I am headed in the right direction.

Be the cool mom if you want or be the strict mom if that suits you. Whatever makes you and your child the happiest is the right thing to do.
